Description
The name of the project will be called the Personal Care Technology Help Line. It will be a user friendly site which will allow persons with disabilities to anonymously enter information about their disability, living situation, care provider situation, access to transportation, and other circumstances in order that PCT can offer the full range of its services.

The site should be designed to be easily navigated, with or without Assitive Technology programs, by inexperienced users. The site will incorporate a video tutorial demonstrating basic computer skills such as printing a page, and how to use the site. What will make the PCT Help line so different from the regular information and referral sites is the pre-screener that accepts the individuals information about the disabled person's immediate situation, whether it is emergency or non emergency.
The Help line will analyze the potential eligibility for a variety of helpful PCT services.

Once the user has completed the prescreener , he/she receives a listing of services for which he/she is likely qualified. Along with this list, there is interactive contact information. As an Example, for Attendant Services, the user can view the PCT office closest to his/her zip code to access information regarding available care providers seeking employment situations.

Anonymous data entry provides a safe, secure, confidential way for PCT Members, or persons with disabilities in L.A. County, to research the services, goods, training, and a variety of other services offered by PCT. We would like to also implement a Hot Line that will serve as response system to individuals who find themselves suddenly without a care provider.....an Emergency Relief Attendant Hot Line.
